The house footprint was chosen onsite within the avilable envelope, and based on selecting a portion of the property where the house could sit freestanding without compromising much the natural contours in order to reduce cut and fill, and enhance the slim and low mass look.
Attending to their brief, the design approach was to place the indoor pool perpendicular to the main views, on the back of the main house, and run a long covered terrace parallel to it, with all living areas placed in between the two. What we achieved by it, is to have all living areas and bedrooms with direct access to the terrace on one side, and a single corridor on the other with internal windows towards the indoor pool.
Textures like raw off-form concrete, natural stones and feature lineal tiled claddings, spread thorughout the project, both externally and internally, where selected based on a colour pattern picked form the site's tree log barks.
