Description:

The brief for this project was to design a 20 metre high tower for bird watching purposes and luxury/adventure dining above Tarapoto's rainfoest canopy. The concept is based on a 2.5 m x 2.5 m x 2.5 m cube module, open and braced. Each module built onsite at ground level and placed one on top of each other until the desired height is met. Cilindrical posts forming diamond shapes along the tower's height would act as bracing. Vertical circulation, via a continuos ladder would take the visitors towards the top. Alternatively, a cargo-style lift could take visitors in small numbers to the top. Small diameter local logs around the entire height of the tower are used like slats, providing screening whilst allowing views and ventilation. At the top, different birdwatching platforms sit proudly overlooking the scenery over the rainforest canopy.replica hublot
